Egg Hunt + Waffle Love + Random Acts of Kindness
A big thank you to Carmen Harris & Muyly Miller for creating and leading this project! Without their vision and hard work, this would never have happened! And to the volunteers who helped set up, tear down, and everything in between... thank you! AND, thank you so much to Waterford School for donating their beautiful space to us for this event and lending us tables and chairs!
EVENT RECAP: This event was not only an egg hunt + waffles... this was Carmen & Muyly's vision to spread kindness in the community, through the random acts of kindness playing cards and the kits filled with necessities for those living unsheltered. We also are so grateful to have hosted 73 guests from the Road Home's Midvale Shelter at the event!
Story Time: A family is living between two shelters and during the egg hunt yesterday, their daughter made a friend in the rush for eggs. She told her mom that "today was the best day and she felt happy". [we're not crying, you're crying.]
What's more? Waffle Love cooked all the dough they brought and neatly packaged the leftovers in oven-ready containers, along with all the toppings so we could deliver a complete meal to the VOA Center for Women & Children after the event. Thanks Waffle Love!
