We raised hundreds of supplies, plus $10,546 in cash donations. A special thanks to Title Guarantee and their employees, as well as Travis Carter of First Colony Mortgage. ♥

If you would like to donate to the pizza fund, you may do so by either:
1 - Buy a t-shirt [above]. 2 - Venmo Clint or Rachel [call 801-694-3804 for details] |

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR A GREAT EVENT!
Every penny raised is a penny donated to The Road Home's Women's Shelter and Resource Center. (This event is paid for by SaltLakeHomes.com -- a real estate team affiliated with KW Utah Realtors Keller Williams.) THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN OUR EVENT & ALL-PROCEEDS-GO EVENTS: Most events are "All Proceeds Go to Cause", which is how non-profits typically operate, however, our events are EVERY PENNY GOES TO THE CAUSE ALL PROCEEDS: [ total funds raised - costs of event and operating = proceeds donated to cause ] LOVE LAKE CITY's equation is [ total revenue raised = total donated to cause ] This event is paid for entirely by SaltLakeHomes.com, a real estate team affiliated with KW Utah Realtors Keller Williams. |

The Kindness Recognition is an independent project. The goal is to recognize the kindness someone has shown you.
In this world, we are one click away from negativity online and in our social media. And it's easy to get caught up expending energy and thoughts on those that do not show up for us, or who don't display the kindness we would hope for. This project is a time out -- time out to recognize the abundance of kindness around us and to show our appreciation for such! Let's take a couple hours and put all our energy into those who have shown up, shown kindness, and made our lives better. Here are three ways you can do just that! 1. Show up for them. Bring them coffee or a piece of pizza and tell them how much their kindness and support means to you. 2. Write a note. Grab a card and a pen and tell them how much their kindness means to you, the old fashioned way. 3. Tell the world. Post on our Love Lake City facebook page and tag them. Add a bit of goodness and appreciation to their feed. AND, as always, we love to see your pics, so tag us or send them to us! XOXOXO... we appreciate your kindness! (a million heart emojis!) |

Our February project was a new adventure. We learned that teens and young adults who visit the VOA Homeless Youth Resource Center need snacks to make it through the day, as they may not find themselves at the center during meal times. We were fortunate enough to be able to help with this, by filling 68 snack grab bags for the homelesss youth in our community.
|
To kick off the new year of service, we decided to once again do a clothing and necessities drive for the VOA Homeless Youth Resource Center. The number of texts and calls for pick ups across the Salt Lake Valley were a great reminder to us that there are so many great humans in this world. Thank you for helping us once again fill two SUVs with clothing and necessities for homeless youth in the Salt Lake area.

In September, we had an extraordinary opportunity to volunteer at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab, UT This was an all day event filled with compassion, furbabies, hard work, and feel-goods.

We had several volunteers express the desire to be outside doing service, so for this project we decided to clean up a trail in Butterfield Canyon. In two hours, we collected enough trash to fill five big garbage bags. It was an amazing and eye-opening experience. Something that was observed a couple of times was the idea that when you're hiking, you might see a few pieces of litter here and there, but when you actually put it all together, it piles up really fast.

After our original project was unfortunately cancelled, we decided to make PB&J sandwiches and delivered the 77 sack lunches and 96 cold water bottles to the hungry folks of downtown SLC. We had a great time and are looking forward to doing this project again! |

Rally for Ruby was a fundraiser to help little Ruby Thackeray, who is three years old, fight cancer. She is receiving treatment at Primary Children’s Medical Center, and Ruby's doctor is hopeful that the treatments will be successful. . (Watch her story on KSL here.) For every Love Lake City registered participant David Weekley Homes donated $20 to the Rally for Ruby Fundraiser! Thanks to this sponsorship, we were able to raise more than $3,000 for Ruby's medical expenses. Never stop fighting Ruby! |

The Living Traditions Festival is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the Urban Indian Center. They had a Navajo Taco stand at the festival and we had the opportunity to help run the booth, deliver fresh ingredients from an off-site location, prepare the tacos, and serve the tacos.

When Make-A-Wish Foundation needed a helping hand at their annual Gala fundraiser, we couldn't think of a better way to spend the evening. We spent a few hours getting our sweat on, tearing down the event, putting decor away, and hauling everything to the truck. Jenny Hortin, the volunteer coordinator, with Make-A-Wish was amazing to work with. We're excited to get together again with this incredible organization. |

This month, our project is to Help Families Have Fun. Volunteers (18 and older) will be helping at the Neighborhood House Easter Carnival and Egg Hunt. Tasks will be: Set up, Tear Down, Game Facilitating, Supervising Egg Hunt, Etc.
The Carnival and Egg Hunt provide a place for families, who may not have many opportunities otherwise, to have fun and make memories in a family-oriented, safe environment. The Neighborhood House is a non-profit that provides quality, affordable day care and support services for children and adults, based on their ability to pay. Their daycare center provides care for children from low-income families at a reduced rate to the parents. The Neighborhood House Adult Care Center provides aging and impaired adults compassionate care during the day. Child and adult care costs are supplemented through fundraisers, donations, and sponsorships.

February's Project is a card-writing event. We'll provide the cards, you provide the words and stamps.
Have you ever been to a funeral and listened to the family and friends tell stories of the moments that mattered most to them, and wonder if the deceased ever knew how important those moments meant to their loves ones? We're here to help you make sure the people who have impacted your life know just how much they mean to you. This February, we're doing a project to impact those who matter to us. Life gets so crazy and most often we don't take the chance to tell those who have made a difference in our lives how much they mean. So this month, we're taking a moment to 'Let Them Know'. Maybe it's the friend who sat next to you at lunch your first day in third grade; or a teacher who made you believe in you; or a parent who has been there for you, even when it wasn't easy for them; maybe it's your brother who taught you how to stand up for yourself; or a friend who inspires you... these are the ones who need to know. When you sign up, you'll be sent cards and envelopes, so you can "Let Them Know". Each pack of cards has 5 cards and envelopes, and you can sign up for two packs on the Eventbrite link below. Get yours before they're gone! |

Through the Homeless Youth Basic Necessities drive, we collected enough care and hygiene products, purses, backpacks, clothes, jackets, and coats to fill two SUVs (with the seats down and all) to the max! Not to mention, all the generous folks who donated had to drive through the day-long snow storm we had. Thank you so much to your support and generosity, and to Full Circle Yoga and Therapy for allowing us to use their space as a drop-off location.
Now, because of you, many children and teens without a home can focus on other things other than worrying about where they'll get a toothbrush or deodorant. Not to mention, they will be dressed for school, work, and winter. Thank you!!! |

In December, 44 volunteers came out (during the Utah/BYU Bowl Game) and gave more than 200 hours to those receiving Christmas at the Salvation Army Angel Tree Distribution Warehouse.

Thanks to Thanksgiving Heroes, we were able to deliver Thanksgiving to hungry families in the Jordan School District.

Through the Wiggin' Out for Charity Pub Crawl, we raised $4,121.55 to shelter 412 people at The Road Home shelter, thanks to the generous sponsors, participants, and those who made donations. Thank you!
