FOOD TRUCK PARTY
Our annual event (originally scheduled for Nov 2020, and then Nov 2021) has been rescheduled for Nov 5th, 2022. In the meantime, we wanted to get together in a safe, socially distanced way to do some good. Thus, the FOOD TRUCK PARTY. Thanks to your generosity, we raised $4,862 in one evening at the Food Truck Party on September 21, 2021.
Your donation will have a direct impact on those staying at the VOA Homeless Youth Resource Center and the VOA Center for Women & Children – of which both rely on community involvement and supporters like yourself to provide daily meals.
Every penny raised is a penny donated directly to the cause. 100% of your donation is going to provide meals to those experiencing homelessness, addiction, and/ or mental illness at one of the VOA resource centers. To volunteer to serve any of these meals, simply sign up at here.
VOA Homeless Youth Resource Center. There are more than 4,000 youth experiencing homelessness, due to poverty, health issues, identifying as LGBTQIA+, abuse, neglect, addiction, and many other issues. This project serves to connect us with those individuals and to give them fuel in their lantern so their lights may shine.
VOA Center for Women & Children is a detox center providing a safe place to start the journey to recovery. Detoxing is a common road block to entering recovery programs and women experiencing addiction often find it more difficult to leave abusive and dangerous environments due to having to first detox before entering other resource centers and programs. By providing a meal as a volunteer, we support these individuals in experiencing the feeling of a community wanting to help and engage in their success.
